You Tryin’ to Get Crazee Burger with Ese?

Don’t you know I’m loco? (name the band and the song)

You know who I can’t stand? Those people in the airport that are running to their terminal. You know they really have like 30 minutes and they’re just paranoid about being 3 hours early like everyone recommends. Like they’re plane is really going to leave without them. This isn’t Home Alone, people don’t really need to run through the airport. They also always look like the most annoying people in the world, too. They have fanny packs, their pants pulled up to their belly button with their shirt tucked in and a panicked look on their face. But then on his way to San Diego, The Fredman became one of those annoying Airport Runners!

Flying from Philly I had to catch a plane in Atlanta that was scheduled to leave 1 hour after I got there. Plenty of time to make the connection… but then my plane in Philly was delayed 50 minutes. Before we took off the lady at the desk even said “Yeah, I doubt you’ll make it“, yet did not book me on a later flight. Thanks for the reassurance.

So we land in Atlanta and half the people on the flight are in the same situation so there was no butting in line to get out. I deplane and start running. Well, it was more of a smooth jog as I didn’t want my laptop to go flying and I also didn’t want to run over anybody. It’s funny how oblivious everyone was to The Running Man as I flew past them. Well I made it at the exact time it was originally suppossed to depart and lucky for me the Atlanta flight was also delayed. I got there just as they called my zone! I was sweaty, out of breath and embarassed, but it meant I would be on time to meet San Diego Dave!

The first thing San Diego Dave and I did was make another stop on the The Fredman Family and Friends Famous Food and Fun For All Tour at Tioli’s Crazee Burger known for their burger menu. View the menu here. So we pull up to the world famous Tioli’s Crazee Burger and here it is:

Not exactly the most inviting looking restaurant. But hey, the show it’s featured on is Diners Drive-ins and Dives. We figured this must fall in to the “Dives” category, but we wouldn’t let that deter us. We walk around to the front in anticipation of the best burgers we could sink our teeth in to and came across this scene:

An over-turned trash can and a sign that says they are “Closed for Remodel.” My trip continues to be a rocky one. Luckily San Diego Dave knew that Tioli’s Crazee Burger had 2 locations! And one is in a nicer area called Old Town. Even the trees were nicer looking in Old Town:

So let’s get down to business: The FOOD.
San Diego Dave went with the Hopping KANGAROO Burger with Creamed Horseradish Sauce. I settled on the Big Bird, ground OSTRICH Burger with Lemon Chive Cream Sauce. They both looked REALLY GOOD:

The Outcome? Well, they both tasted like an average burger that we wouldn’t get again. They didn’t taste bad, but it was like ordering a burger at Denny’s where you know it’s not going to be great, but it will do the job if you have no other options. Based on Guy Fieri’s visit they seem to be known also for their interesting sauces and our choices didn’t come with anything too outrageous so I’m sure there are tastier optoins on the menu. I probably enjoyed mine a little more than San Diego Dave as Ortiches remind me of a certain retarded man with a long neck that walks around Doylestown, none other than Marvy. If only they a Marvy Burger on the menu the world would be a better place… and a chewier place… and a more retarded place.
